Visiting Renaissance Island in Aruba is a truly unique experience, especially if you’re looking to enjoy the company of its most famous, flamboyant residents: the flamingos.

This private island, owned by the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, is home to some of the most picturesque beaches in the Caribbean, and of course, the Instagram-famous pink flamingos.

We’ll guide you through everything you need to know to see these majestic birds and enjoy a day in this tropical paradise.

Planning Your Visit

Book in Advance:

Renaissance Island is exclusive to guests of the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. However, a limited number of day passes are available for non-guests.

The easiest way to access Flamingo Beach is to book a stay at the Renaissance Aruba Private Island.

Even if you book your stay at the resort, they do run out of tickets! it is actually cheaper to stay at the Renaissance hotel than to book a trip to Flamingo Island!

It is important to note that you cannot just show up at Renaissance Island without prior reservations.

You only have to buy an island pass if you’re NOT staying at the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort. The total cost for a day pass to visit Flamingo Beach on Renaissance Island Aruba is $130 per person.

You can book your day pass here! They go on sale at 7am the day before, and you can only get a max of 5 tickets per day!

Since flamingos are not native to Aruba, you won’t see flamingos just roaming around Aruba.  You will actually only find these pretty pink birds in one place: the private island owned by REnaissance Wind creek Aruba resort!

Now, it’s important to note that–while guests certainly have access to this 40-acre island–it’s actually located a distance from the Renaissance hotel. So, for example, even if you stay at the resort, you won’t be able to walk straight from your room to Flamingo Beach.

Instead, arriving at Renaissance Island involves a short eight-minute ride via a water taxi! After your boat docks at the private island, you’ll need to go to the Flamingo Beach section to see the famous pink flamingos.

Book a massasge at the Renaissance Hotel Spa! Always double check this, as this was the case at the time this post was written in November 2023! They may change it, or run out of passes!
